Breakdown cover in Morocco

Anyone aware of any organisations who will recover you from Morocco? I am aware of a few companies in Morocco who will do it for a fee but id prefer to pay an annual sub and have the peace of mind to know that if im stuck i can get rescued. Also, anyone aware of places where you can get tyres if you rip one whilst in Morocco? Or is it a case of taking a spare with you?

Thanks in advance.

The camping club surprised me. The old folks took their campervan to Morocco and got recovery included with ferry bookings etc. Bet they don't do bikes but could be worth a call though.

Take care, I've met at least two riders who've thought they had cover but the call centres had looked up Monaco.

When I was at the Western Sahara / Mori border some years ago a German couple had an accident just a few hundred yards on the Mori side and she broke her collar bone. The bike was somewhat bent as well so they pushed it back into W.S. and left it.

I asked them what they were going to do and was told that ADAC would collect it as it was (technically) Morroco. If they'll collect a broken down bike from there you shouldn't have a problem with anywhere else in the country. Might be worth checking to see if they still cover Morroco.

Hi ADAC will recover from morroco as well as most of north africa, however if you are involved in an accident and the vehicle is too damaged to drive & requires recovery to home, they only have 2 transporters a year doing this. but better than nothing.

nothing seems to phase them, in the UK neither the AA or RAC will do european cover on my 27yo landrover but not a problem with ADAC
The free med cover and their fleet of 19 aircraft is great value for 79euro pa.

lots of the snow birds in mooroco use ADAC cover for their motorhomes.

regards

Gren

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
