Thanks guys. We are not impressed with hotels on the Spanish side .... and the idea was to get an early start on the Morocco side for a change .... last time the "early" ferry was late and we didn't get on the road until lunchtime!

Fuel costs

Hi all,

Fuel today in Erfoud is 7.42Dh/lt for gasoil and 10.45 for unleaded. Yesterday in Ceuta it was 0.98 euro and 1.06 respectively.

Getting through the border is the same as ever - no bank or insurance office and now the penpushers in the offices are asking for cadeaux.

Happy trails,

Jojo

Do you mean the officials with uniforms?

BTW, where do you change money? Because if going directly to the south there is no village with bank until you reach the motorway which has tolls (unless you enter Fnideq). Can tolls be paid in euros?

There is an offical exchange place just after the border on the main road around N35 50.961 W5 21.178

I never got asked for cadeaux from any officials either in or out a few weeks ago, maybe it's the luck of the draw or they thought I looked tight.

In fact both crossings were far more easy than last year, on the way out I was not even approached by a tout.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
