Great, peaceful place with gardens. Ismail Elalaoui is a great host, friendly and discrete. Prepares excellent food. Car park at the entrance, off the road. Cheap for what you get. Empty swimming pool ;-)

I'd endorse that - 3 of us stayed there in March last year in a clean, shared room, with attached shower, so very reasonable. Bikes were secure in a gated yard, and both host and meals were excellent. Recommended, and it made a handy start for Chris Scott's MS1 then MS4 after lunch in Zagora.

Ibis Marrakech

The Ibis on the N9 Route de Casablanca has secure parking.

There's good camping at the Relais de Camping Marrakech a further 2.5km out of town. At 2nd roundabout take a left and head for the Hotel Sangho. The campsite is behind to the right.

Happy trails,

Jojo

Camping in Marrakech

There's also Camping Ferdous further out of marrakech on the same Casablanca road.
Not as glam as the Relais and a bit more road noise (and the bloomin' peacocks!) but it's OK.

Happy trails,

Jojo

Same, try the Relais de Marrakesh. You can rent a room or you can camp or even get one of the Berber tents. The restaurant is decent, there's a pool and the nearest supermarket isn't far.
While you're there, don't miss the ride to Oukaimeden all the way up to the end of the piste. You won't regret.

Cheers and have nice rides.

Essouira camping.

We are at Essouira parked with a lot of other campers by the beach front between the Agidir road and the sand-dune behind the beach. The gaurdee gave us a receipt for the 20 Dh he wanted.
There are about 4 Restaurants one hundred metres away (some a bit expensive) on the beach.
Two hundred metres further along the road toward Agidir is a proper camp ground for cars and tents and motorhomes on the eastern side of the road. It's hard to see going south as it's up a short fork but you look right at its entrance going north. This is only one Km from the Casa/Marrakech road roundabout. We have been handed a flyer from a bloke in a car promoting a new campground, 15 minutes south-east from Essouira. It's called "Camping Calme" Is 4 hectares, has bedrooms and suites, a pool, washing machine, showers hot and a restaurant. GPS N31-25'57" W09-39'25".
May stay there tomorrow night. If we do I'll post a follow-up.

Places we stayed in Morocco

Great Post Chris,

I wont create a long list as we saved every location we stayed in Morocco and Western Sahara as way points that can be downloaded at our website. We also noted a couple of camp sites that have now closed and saved them too. Each accommodation waypoint has summary notes and costs where applicable.

Enjoy folks

Nick

I'm not keen on Tanger, too many undesirables hanging around, so I tend to stay at the Ibis near the airport. 470dh/room isn't cheap by Moroccan standards but not too bad if there's two sharing.

Campsite in Tanger

Hi Tito,

Try Camping Ackachar at Cap Spartel Campsite in Tanger just outside the city centre. It's clean enough, loads of shade, clean toilets but no hot water. It's handy for the motorway too.

Happy trails,

Accommodation, Tanger Med/Tanger

I had tended to agree with Tim re Ibis near airport but now notice on GE there is a Service Area on A4 approx 25km from Tanger Med. Does anyone know if it has accommodation and if so details?

Thanks, Peter
