Morocco October anyone ?

Hi folks
Looking at going to Morocco from the UK in October .Have only ever been to Europe before and would like some company if possible.I'm going from Plymouth to Santander on 30th Sept heading for Portugal to see friends for a couple of days then off to southern Spain to cross into Morocco (hopefully about the 8th or 9th Oct). I'll be riding a DL650 and looking at spending up to two weeks in Morocco (routes, destinations and times are very flexible).

If you fancy a couple of in the and and get away from the here's your chance.

Neil

There's five of us on four bikes getting the ferry on the 3rd/4th October Plymouth-Santander and returning from Bilbao on the 20th. Our paths will probably pass, good to know fellow countrymen will be out there at the same time

our planned route at the mo is something like this

Tangier Med - Azrou 9th October
Azrou - Midelt (ish)
Midelt - Essaouira
Rest Day Essaouira 12th
Essaouira - Tafroute
tafroute - Tata MA3
Tata - Foum Zguid MA9
Foum Zguid to Taliouine MA7
Taliouine to Ouarazazate MH7/MS9
Ouazazate to Nekob MH4
Nekob to Zagora MS1
Rest Day around Zagora 21st
Zagora to Erfoud MS6
Erfoud to Figuig Hybrid of ME routes
Figuig to Med Coast
Ferry from Santander 31 October

Most routes are from Chris Scotts book although some are hybrids of several routes and some from hours looking at google earth

We'd love to do the Plage Blanche but being fairly new to this won't on our own.

If any of you bikers are along the same routes we can always travel together (although I expect we'd be a long way behind) and maybe we could carry some excess weight for you

Morocco October too

Hiya,
I too am trying to sort a Moroccan trip in October, just waiting for a couple of mates to come back to me.
As I live in the Algarve it could be easy for us to meet up before you sail the straits.
I have no fixed dates as yet, but your 8/9 Oct appear to be fine, and the only agenda I have is to go to Marrakesh! Been three times to Morocco and still not got there.
I have a Africa Twin 750, so it sounds as though we could be nicely matched too.
If you wish to discuss further email me ridesofdiscovery@gmail.com

Hope to hear from you
Chris

I'm currently meandering around France on a Triumph Explorer with a loose plan to follow the sun south to visit friend in Gibraltar and maybe meet up with another who's going to Morocco on holiday. Your timings could work out good for me and like you I've only ever traveled Europe so moral support for border and navigation would be great. Will watch this thread and let you know if I can meet up.

Will spend 4 weeks in November doing volunteering in a village in mid Atlas, then on to Mauritania...
