Hiring a bike in Morocco

Right, my life has just taken a turn for the worst, so now im a single man again <sigh> I am also now less well of than originally.
my cunning plan was India.

Now Fly to Morocco then Hire a bike for 7 or 10 days ride around from Marrakesh back to Marrakesh, due to budget & my leave entitlement = cheaper to fly & hire then Ride.

anyone know of reliable Hirers in Morocco?

Try Wilderness Wheels who have a base in Marakech and Ouazarzate. Pete's a decent guy.

fly to Marakkech, take the bus tot Ouarzazate and rent a bike at Bikershome Offroad Centre

Wilderness Wheels don't do rentals, they do tours, AFAIK.
Great fun I'm sure but not DIY.

Same as Bikershome, but he informally rents out his bikes too.

loc2roues location motos scooters quads marrakech maroc rent bikes.
Never tried them, but a few people here have used them successfully.

I've had friends come out and join me by renting from loc2roues. On one trip they rented XT660Rs which had about 70,000km on the clock, but were well maintained and handled the varied roads/tracks very well. On another trip a friend rented a BMW G650 X Country which was a bit too small and the 9-litre tank was a limiting factor.

Ha Hi Tim you are on the GS Forum?, small world, lol I am to but new to it.
I looked at loc2roues & looked at the G650 Country as I am only 5ft 5 I know the F650GS is ok size wise for me, but looking at doing the following poss route
at the end of Sept
Start Finish Marrakech, Taroudant, Agadir, Essaouira, Safi, Cassablanca, Rabat, Tanger, Chefchaouen, Fez, Er Rachida, Erfoud, Tinerhir, Boumalne du Dades, Ouarzazate

If you would like to suggest a different sized bike welcome

Must have changed their policy because I thought they had rented bikes out in the past without having to do a guided tour, sorry for the bum info.

The G650 X Country at loc2roues would be ideal for you height-wise as it has a low seat fitted. The 9 litre tank gave it a range of around 225km which is fine for road trips. Just strap on an Ortlieb roll bag and maybe a Kriega tank bag and off you go!

I wouldn't deliberately go to Agadir and Casablanca. Tafraoute in the Anti Atlas is interesting, as is Azrou in the Middle Atlas. Try to get off the red 'N' roads as much as possible so you see Morocco rather than exhaust fumes.

Why cancel the trip to India? If it were me, I'd still be going.

Re Bikers Home, I used them last November for a couple of days. Bike was a 625 KTM and Pete gave me a gps with a couple of day routes so was not guided which suited me fine. I would suggest you take some good MX boots or check if Pete has any your size to save you the trouble of bringing some. I ended up using my old army boots and did feel a bit wary on some of the really rough trails. 160E/day so not cheap if you're going for 8 days.

Cheers for that I think some of the other hire sites are cheaper? will have to cheak
