Hi,

Was there end of February. It's o.k., especially with the view and for 50 Dh (€5 euro). Mainly French campeurs, but they will all have gone home by
now. :thumbup1:
Weather was :rain:, but I can't hold that against them.

Happy trails,

Gee

Wasn't impressed, and it's a long way from town. You could try Pension Castellana which isn't much more, see Pension La Castellana (Chefchaouen, Morocco) - Hotel Reviews - TripAdvisor

We have been there about a week ago. Payed 90dh for two and a 4wd. It was very full with both overlanders and Moroccans on holiday so a little bit noisy. Ablutions were okay and the site itself offers good shade. Not too friendly staff but all in all okay.

Enjoy Morocco!

Be prepared for the old "I haven't got any change scam when paying to leave"

It was ok, but I would thin some of the conifers out to enhance the view, which I think is quite restricted from the site.

I like being out of town a little as there is less dog barking at night... 'usually'.

I'd use it again.

There in April, like it, and there's steps down to the souk near the hotel.

Cheers Mark

Visited the campsite. Looks ok. But we decided to stay in Hotel Andaluz in the medina. 120 dh for a double room on top with a hughe terrass. No problem using the kitchen.
Great place to stay.

Hi,

We'll be in Chefchaoun in early Feb and I'm thinking camping may be a bit chilly. It sounds as though most hotels are in the Medina - does that make them a no no for parking a 4x4? Or finding your way to them? Is security a concern?

Thanks a lot.

Thanks Iain, when you say covered is it tall enough for a 2.6m Landy? Thanks

left a couple of days ago so can't measure but probably tight, space outside where guardian would keep an eye on. also 100 metres along road outside parador ....turning circle/ parking area with guardian, fairly easy to find . hope that helps.

To confirm the garage at Hotel Madrid is only for normal sized cars. I'd say up to 1.8/2m would be fine.

Spent a night at Azilane but found it a bit bleak. Lots of non-communicative camper van residents and their dogs. Maybe better in better weather.

To get to town head out of the campsite gates towards the electricity pylons and the Atlas Hotel and there is a path/stone steps down into town.

There are lots of nice places to stay in the Medina. We stayed at Dar Antonio - a beautiful restored Dar. We felt like a splurge so paid 350Dhfor the suite. Very nice rooms available for much less (150Dh single, 250Dh double). That aside the owners (Hicham and Mohammed) are great. They speak perfect English and numerous other languages. Mohammed offered to come back up to the campsite with us in a taxi and direct us to a secure car park at Hotel Parador (20dh a day).
