Thumbs up Making money on the road

Ive got some idea such as taking temp jobs or taking the 70's hippie route and making and selling hemp jewelry, or doing small things for people here and there.

I wanna hear your creative ideas to make extra money when you need it

I'm an engineer so I make a sign that says (in local language)
"I fix things-No Fix no charge".
In a lot of out of the way places it has got my room and board as well.
I'm also a TEFL so on long term stops I teach.
I also worked as a grave digger one time. No one wanted that job.

Male escort to the ladies....pays very well, though can be exhausting if you have 3 or more clients each evening.

Medical bills have to be paid of course.

Payment is often by results and client satisfaction.

PS dont try to do stuff thats already overdone..how many times have YOU passed by old hippies selling rubbish? Yes, a lot! The post above by an engineer is good.....build on what you've got.

These are some good ideas Keep em comin.

I heard of a guy that did work as a marine electrician, he did very well and averaged about $20 per hour. But as Caminando said he built off his experience, it was something he already knew how to do and was good at it.

Hi all,
There is a forum for this, somewhat hidden away among the "want ads":-

http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...d-your-travel/

You'll find quite a bit of discussion in there on how to get your hands on some loot!!

Im a Chef, So plan on making some loot working in hotel's etc, while Im traveling through Europe, Before crossing over to marocco.

My plan was to at least earn half of what I've spent in Europe, Anything to keep me on the road for as long as possible..

This thread shifting soon

Interesting post, but like Walkabout said, there is a forum for that. I will move this thread in a day, but leave a redirect, so feel free to keep posting.

I found busking in travellers bars and hsotels is an excellent way of making money. Travelled a little bit with a band of minstrels and acrobats in china from the states and they weer making more money an hour than i do here and living at low low costs.

Thumbs up Yes!We can! ...Survive.

While in Miami in Mars 2009 I suddenly was dropped by a not-so-nice-after-all chick who had invited me to join her and..."START that life TOGETHER".I was quite broke and had to wait... 11 long days on the streets before my return ticket .Some local (frm Haiti)invited me in his ...squatt...On the third day I found a job in a supermarket as "muscle-man".They were hiring! They paid me 7 dollars/hrs to carry cans/tins boxes and to put them here and there and there...and here.Lol!It saved me.They even were so pleased of my "work power" that one of the boss proposed me to STAY in Florida...OMG!!!No,no,no!!!

LOL!

Perhaps go down the Help Exchange method !!

Help Exchange: free volunteer work exchange abroad Australia New Zealand Canada Europe

Work a few hours a day in exchange for free board & food...

You get to stay in some beautiful locations for free and meet loads of great people.

Seeing as any money you may earn from a job will probably be spent on food and lodging, this kind of skips the middle man.

THOUSANDS of places all over the world....

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
