Will this itinerary cause me problems with Syria (Israeli stamp)?
Leave Egypt and enter Israel on motorcycle. Visit Israel for a few weeks. Drive back to Egypt. Get a new passport and new carnet copy. Get both stamped in Egypt. Leave Egypt and drive to Jordan. Visit Jordan for a few weeks. Leave Jordan and drive to Syria.
Does anyone see any problems with this itinerary? Any suggestions? Will this allow me to avoid the Israeli stamp issue without too much suspicion? Thank you. |

Last time I was in Israel, they simply stamped a separate piece of paper that I carried in my passport. Shouldn't be any problem if they are still doing this.

Israeli Probs
Yes Mountain is correct. The israelis will offer or you can ask them to stamp a seperate piece of paper.
Often they Jordanians will ask you why you are going into Israel. Tell them its because its in the way of Eygypt. Safe Travels metta |

That does not work if you travel by land. You get stamped out of Egypt with the name of the border crossing town on the exit stamp, completely disapear for a while and reapear in Egypt. The Syrians are well aware of this trick- it's been going on for decades and they DO look for it. Last I heard, they do not accept passports that are newer than six months for the same reason.

You do not get stamped out of Egypt. You get the exit stamp on a separate piece of paper, if you return to Egypt, everything fine and you actually never left it. But your Egypt visa should be according to this.
They are used to the trick so you won't get through with a passport issued in the Middle East. Never been to Palestine, but this is what I've been told... Good luck!

Really? The Egyptians are stamping a piece of paper too? I can see the Israelis doing it, but I am surprised the Egyptians are participating in such a scam.

You could always avoid Israel, considering what they are doing to the Palestinians.....just a thought....

Whatever and how you do it, don't get your passport stamped on any of the locations mentioned on the bottom of this page: Syrian Embassy in Warsaw - Visa Requirements

Sharm esh-Sheikh??!! What has the international airport SSH to do with occupied Palestine? Nonsense.

No airports involved here. It's all about land/sea border crossings. There's a ferry from Israel to Sharm el Sheick.

Monkii just be sure to let every official who ever gets their hands on your passport in Jordan and Egypt know of your plans. Do not try to conceal your movements. They will accommodate and make it possible for you to deal with the Israel-visit issue.
