UAE to Qatar

Does anyone know if you can get from the UAE to Qatar (along the coast road that goes from Abu Dhabi and passes Liwa) without going through Saudi?

Also will I need Qatar to be covered in my UAE insurance policy as with Oman?

Thanks,

Peter

From UAE, you exit into Saudi Arabia at Batha, then go about 100kms to Salwa, cross into Qatar.
That is the geography, unfortunately I cannot help on the bureaucracy.
Would imagine you can get a transit visa, but not sure about this.
