Syria, Jordan, Egypt?

Hello,

Can one drive Syria, Jordan, Egypt? without driving ( or getting an Isreal stamp in passport ) through Israel ?

I don't really want to bump up the price of the trip by taking a Red Sea ferry if I can help it.

Hello Doug,

As much as I look at the maps, I can't see a way from Jordan directly into Egypt, apart from ferry..

Am I missing some thing ?

It looks like Israel runs right down to the Red Sea, by Aqaba and Eilat ?

The road between Jordan and and Egypt does go through Israel. See attachment

Options are take the Aqaba - Nuweiba (Egypt) ferry, or transit Israel and get those stamps on a separate piece of paper.

That’s a dangerous option.
The Egyptian entrystamp in you carnet and passport prove that you have been in Israel.

True, especially if the Egyptian entry stamp specifies the point/port of entry. Which I would wager it does.

sorry, I meant to say via the ferry, from Jordan to Egypt.

Its a shame that crossing Israel creates so many complications.
Im heading that way soon, & it seems the ferrys from ISR to GR are not working now. So, its either turn around in Jordan & return via land, or go to ISR & hope I can find passage to greece.
I dont have a carnet, so Egypt is not an option.

Boats north/west from Israel

Hi,

see Grimaldi Freighter-cruises Euro-Med / Adriatica/Levante; neither necessarily low-priced nor quick, yet it looks as though the destinations are there

ferries are operating from Israel. I checked with Haifa terminal. Bear in mind that the ferrier are cargoferries. Probably rusty old farts. But hey, when it floats it floats......

Hello Marco,
The available transportation to Europe is from Haifa Port by cargo ferry : 1) by ferry to Greec- call Rosenfeld Shipping 972-4-8613613 . 2) by ferry to Italy- call Allalouf Shipping - 972-4-8611811.
Good luck and best regards

did this last year, can avoid all traces of Israel, if polite and commanding. went in as Iran wouldn't issue visa and caught a container to italy, but stopped off at Alexandria and various place en route.I also used grimaldi, they have an office in tel aviv and were real life savers, top people very friendly and helpful, container ship although slow was brilliant , very comfortable great food and an experience.

I went from Italy to Egypt completely overland in 2009, with my campervan, and I confirm that the road from Jordan to Egypt goes through Israel: Aqaba-Arava and Eilat-Taba are the borders.

After spending some days in Egypt I went back to Israel and then took the Grimaldi Freighter vessel to Italy. The main reason was the Israeli stamp in the passport that would not allow me to re-enter Syria.
I knew that it is also possible to ask for a stamp in a separate paper, but the real problem is the additional CUSTOM stamp (related to the vehicle entry).

Thus, if anyone is going through Israel, I would recommend to go back to Europe by vessel.
From 2010 there is also a ferry boat that connects Egypt and Italy. The company is called Visemar Line and has a regular passenger service.

Turkey Syria Jordan Egypt Israel Cyprus

Is a nice trip back through Israel and Palestine
If you visit the other ME countries, then the Israel and Palestine experience explains u all u have not grasped by then,
I took the ferry from Haifa to Limassol (Cyprus), there is another one straight to Athens, It isn't chaep but the road trip would not be either.
This Fab Trek - Photography and Journey, Turkey and Middle East trip, 2009, 2010.

If u wanted to do Lebanon u'd have to do it before from Syria, there is no way to enter Syria or Lebanon after Israel, stamp or not, they know from adjacent Arab countries border stamps which way u went.
Turkey, Jordan, Egypt all not a problem with the Israeli stamp.
