speeding incident

Just over a year ago I passed through Turkey on a bike, picking up a momento on the way, in the form of a nice red speeding ticket. As I was staying with the local police I asked the local chief what was best to do about this, he said go and be happy.
I am about to return by plane and have dug the old ticket out and can see clearly my passport number on there, has anyone come across this situation before ? what was the outcome ? Am i going to spend the rest of my days in a turkish gaol ?

worse case scenario, you will have to pay it.

they arent going to put you in jail over it.

I'd bet it wont even be mentioned

but of course you can bring it up yourself as you enter, if your consience is bothering you

As you will be on a motorcycle, you will probably be offered the T.E.Lawrence option.

If you are worried, just get a new passport

And if all else fails, say you suspect the Mossad of having cloned your passport and that it must have been someone else riding the bike, they'll be sympathetic after the whole Dubai assassination and Gaza Flotilla attack...

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
