Shipping to the middeleast
 

Below I started a thread asking for info on shipping to Saudi.
So far we are being told that we cannot ship the car there and continue the journey to Jordan.
We have not given up and are still trying to get a confirmation that we can still do it that way.
We are now considering other options.

As we have the Saudi visa we are thinking of possibilities of turning up at the border and crossing the country to Jordan.

Can anyone please tell me how shipping by container( Netherlands vehicle with carnet) to one of the other Gulf states is (UAE etc.). Is it a straight forward clearing proceedure or are these counties difficult too.

Our last option is ship to Aqaba, Jordan. From there we can maybe visit Saudi with our own car.
We have a limited time to enter Saudi so we need to make a decision very soon.
There is a possibility that we can change/extend the valitity of our visas if we know that clearing the car in Aqaba is no problem.

We would even consider shipping to Sudan and then take the Ferry to Jeddah if we could get our Sudan visa. We are now waiting almost 6 weeks in Dar... The application procedure has changed and everything must go to Khartoum first.

I don't know if this will help, but I'm currently stuck in Egypt and looking for a way OUT of the Middle East. When I tried to contact a shipping agent for my motorcycle, Lufthansa sent me to DHL. Of all people? DHL does have a logistics service, and they ship nearly everywhere. It's worth a try. Sorry I can't help more.

I have planned my shipment from Rotterdam to Dubai with Motortransport.nl, motor cycle transport worldwide, motorbike holiday.
Scheduled for April. Seems they are very recommended.

PS. SA with own vehicle? Is that possible at all? I know that motorbikes are definetely NOT allowed to enter.
