Saudi arabia righthand drive vehicles

Please can anybody help my wife and I out as we have been told that
No righthand drive vehicles are allowed in saudi arabia.

This seems alittle strange to us...We have hurd that couples must have
proof of marriage etc But the right hand drive is a new one.

Any advise will be great....Many Regards...:helpsmilie:

We have hoped to catch ferry to SUDAN but also hurd that this maybe a
issue as getting visa out side of africa is a problem.

Basicly we were wishing to miss egypt....

Regards

Even just passing through?

Do they ask what side the steering wheel is on in the visa application form?? Surely the problem is at customs...?

Right Hand Drive in Saudi Arabia

Good day

Our steering wheel is on the right hand side of the vehicle. We want to visit Saudi Arabia on a tourist visa and drive through to UAE, Oman and Iran.

Does anybody know:
  1. Whether they will allow the vehicle entry at all.
  2. Do
we need a Carnet or will they be prepared to issue a TIP?

We did something similar in 2009 and then we traveled with the same vehicle, without a Carnet but only on a transit visa. However, things change a lot, and in some cases daily.

I got info from my local Carnet issuing company in the UK that Saudi is not currently a Carnet country. I received no further info beyond that.

No right hand Drive

I am in Oman and right hand drive vehicles are not allowed to drive. I suspect that the same is the case for all GCC countries including Dubai. You might be able to put the vehicle on an transporter and get someone to carry it for you but even that I doubt. I've never tried it but I suspect that entry would be forbidden.
