Now I am planning to do new trip: Russia-Iran-UAE-Oman-Yemen-Saudia-Jordan-Syria-Turkey-Russia
Planning to do this trip in the late autumn 2009 (start in October-November) so if anyone is interested, I'll be glad to go together some part or the whole way. :))

Hi mosq,

We plan almost the same trip,starting from Bulgaria,but excluding Russia.
Probably we'll start begining/mid september.Just visited your site :thumbup1:,about your concern to enter Israel-no matter what kind of visa you have in your pass,you can get into.We did it last September with syrian visa in my pass,from Jordan sight.The main problem is your return through any arabic country(excluding Jordan and Egypt),once you get Israeli stamp into your pass.There is ferry from Haifa to Athens,which operated last year,but I've heart that is stopped already.
Anyway, let stay in touch.

thanks Simon, I want to start route from Iran, then take a ferry to UAE and then Oman, Yemen, Saudia, Jordan, Syria, Turkey and Russia

So I will miss Israel and go through Jordan land.

I enjoyed reading your account of your Iran trip. Did you write an account of your Baikal trip?

oh yeah. I wrote the story in russian and my friend translated it to english.

we are planning to start from saudi arabia to jordan-syria-turkey-egypt in the winter of 2009 (oct-nov) on our KTM 990Adventure.

we might bump into each other OR if fate has it, ride/drive together ...

Fastship, you must visit Baikal some time. Great nature and views and cleanest water and air.

Many international tourists go there. For example, these guys and girls were from Germany:

And this man was going by the bicycle from POLAND :) about 6000kms for 4 months. and then back :) He was planning to visit some polish village near baikal.

any updates about your travel plans ?

we "might" be starting from Saudi arabia by week 3 of Oct'09, to Jordan first, then Syria, Turkey and the same way back.

No huge updates, I am collecting now information about roads, visa, weather and so. The main target now is to select the car which to use for this travel, because my Ford Maverick, which is shown in the first message, does not have air condition and I believe I can boil in my car in October in Saudi Arabia :))) I also have another car, Nissan Serena, minivan, FWD, Automatic transmission, diesel,with air condition, but this car has small tyres and I afraid that I can damage tyres and bottom of this minivan if I go somewhere out of asphalt road.
The best choice is to find somewhere new car like Nissan Patrol Y61 or Toyota Landcruiser 100/105 and do the trip via these cars. Then I can start in October and arrive to Saudia in the middle of October. If I will not find any chances to get any new car from our car dealers, then I will install air condition into my Maverick and start not earlier than in late November, so in Saudi Arabia I will enter approximately in the middle of December.

In any case - I will do this trip :)
