ferries to Israel

hello yosi
I have the same idea to travel to Israel this spring. My plan is to go by bike from my home in Dortmund (Germany) direction Greece through Austria, Slovenia, Kroatia along the Middle Sea (Adria), Montenegro, Kosovo, Macedonia to Greece.
But I have no clue how to get over via ferry or ship and where there in Greece are harbours and companies which offer a trip to Haifa in Israel.:confused1:
Sincerly
Gary

HI Guys

I am from Ireland and I work a lot in Israel.
I am riding from Cape town to Tel Aviv via Cairo in July.
There is a very good BMW community in Tel Aviv and you should look them up on the HUBB travellers communities they are very helpful.
I am trying to find out about the same ferry as I need to come back the other direction.
As far as I know the two ferry routes are from Greece to Cyprus and then to Haifa or straight from Greece to Haifa but im not sure about the second one

as soon as I find out I'll post it up but it will take about a week

Shipping bike to Israel
Just got some Q to my privete mail box, asking about shipping from Europe to Israel, I made some reaserch on that and here it is to those who will need it one day:

To get an up to date info on shipping your bike (or car) to Israel from Greece
Call Rosenfeld co. in Israel
it is: 972-4-8613671
or: 972-4-8613613
Ask for Alicya or Rashid and they will help.

Many thanks to all for the information. Rosenfeld told me that the only way is via Tasucu (east Turkey) to North Cyprus (Turk side) and then from Larnaca (in the south) should be a ferry to Haifa.
(hopefully since is subject to the political situation in the area)

I’ll keep you posted

Smile Israel

Hi,

I have considered same idea last year, I have been to Pireus in Athens in order to discover if Poseidon Lines will restart the service in 2007, but at the moment there is no confirmation, the only possibility is Rosenfeld or from Italy a Ro-Ro service. By land Tunisia Libya Egypt, in Lybia a guide is compulsory also for transit, Egyptian bureaucracy takes a lot of time for motorcycles.

Hope it helps

When you do finally get to Israel and of course Tel Aviv , look up an Irish Bar just off Hayercon St Called Molly Blooms.. great pub with real Irish people
they even have a group of 4 israeli's who have never been in Ireland and play really good traditional irish music....
