Looking for a sponsor for a Saudi visa

This is actually an eternal topic, but I give it another try with this: Is there anybody that knows a Saudi Arabian citizen that may be willing to sponsor a Saudi visa. This would be very much appreciated. I'm currently in Turkey, intending to go down to Syria and Jordan and then cross Saudi Arabia to get to Kuwait. Thanks a lot for any post!

Actually I tried to organize the transit visa through Saudi Arabia in Amman. No luck there, they only issue them to Jordanian citizens. I called the Saudi embassy in Switzerland if they could provide me one. They said they do, but only for transits through airports. So I forgot about it. They don't want me to come, so why spend money on something nearly impossible? In fact I met a Saudi Arabian on the road and thought I ask him if he could sponsor me when he's back in the country. He said no, but I don't know if he wasn't able or just didn't want to. The next time I have to get a transit visa for Saudi Arabia I'd do everything with the embassy in my home country. But even this way I think you have to be persistent. Call them every day, knock them on their head and it may work. But allow plenty of time.

i recall a belgian chap getting a saudi transit visa in amman in 1999.

in order to get this saudi transit visa he

a.) first he had to get a yemeni visa.
b.) he had to be a resident or national of jordan

he was allegedly a 'jordanian resident': he said that when you get your normal 2 week tourist visa extended (which is easy at every police station), you, by default, become a 'resident' albeit a temporary one.

try that angle.

good luck.

This once used to be like this. These days you have to stay for some months (don't remember the exact amount anymore) to get the status of a Jordanian resident.

Uh, that's a long time ago I tried to get into Saudi Arabia. I'm currently in Russia on the way back home from New Zealand. But you may get to help other people trying to do the Saudi thing. THX
