Hi Moggy.

we are waiting for our 2 week visa processing period at the moment in Turkey. We applied in Istanbul. Its a very confusing story at the moment *getting an iran visa* and it varies depending on your passport nationality and various other random things.

I have heard UK passports are being rejected visas often at the moment. A young Aussie backpacker in line with me at embassy was refused with no explanation and no refund. Another Aussie biker Drew also in line used an agency and he got his visa. It sounds like people using visa agencies are more likely to get their visa in the end.

I may know more in 2 weeks.

John

Applied in Istanbul, picked up the visa 16 days later in Ankara. Same as three German hitchhikers. The woman didn't even bother to cover her hair, didn't bother the very friendly embassy official. Our wait was sweetened by him with tea, bread and cheese.

If in a hurry, iranianvisa.com was recommended by several travellers.

Electronic visa

Seems there is possibility to apply for visa eletronically, however I can't find any details how this is supposed to work and what are conditions. The online visa application form is here:

http://visareq.mfa.gov.ir:7780/visar...eqCode=confirm

Anyone tried this?

Interesting, how did you find this page? I can't even open the English main page of the MFA, server down.

Got my visa today in Dubai, quick and efficient.

The actual e-visa link is on homepage of Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Welcome to Ministry of foreign affairs ,Islamic Republic of Iran

Go to English section, then on left hand menu there is "Login to e-visa" link. However, I do not find any other info about e-visa.
