Any problem entering in Israel with a former Iranian visa in your passport?
I’m Italian , I don’t need a visa to enter Israel, but I has been advised by my Embassy in Tel Aviv not to try to enter because of my former Iranian visa. I could be allowed to enter but then I might face several problem when travelling along the country and showing my passport.
Any experiences on this?

Not any experience, but fact from Slovenia. I have a feeling that in Italy is the same. If you were in Israel and planning to go to Arab Countries, or opposite, you have right to get the 2nd passport. Ask about it at the offices, and mention the problem. My friend took the 2nd password with same reason about 4 months ago.

So you can get the 2nd passport and use it for Israel and some other countries, for other Arabic Countries you can still use the old one (with visa already).

Thanks, I know that this is the final solution; to get the second passport.

So far, the problem was to have an Israel visa/stamp in your passport and then to try to enter into an Arab country. No way at all! For this reason, since a long time ago, at the Israeli border you might ask to have your visa/stamp in a separate piece of paper.

Now it seems that the problem is quite the opposite (as you said) and I’m just looking for first hand information on this.

Entering Israel with Arab / Iranian Visa
 

You should have no problem to enter Israel with Iranian / Arab visa / stamps in you passport. Sure, expect some questioning as to your whereabouts.

When entering Israel ask NOT to stamp your passport. (actually they switched to electronic stamp now). You will get a entry card which will serve as your passport stamp.

If you have an Israeli stamp in your passport you will not be able to go to many Arab countries.

Don't worried about the stamp from Iran. From own experience they will let you in but only answering lots of questions. This is something you have to understand from the Israel view.

Take some hours in consideration when entering Israel. My last entry took me 5 hours, while the first after Iran took me only 1 hour. I had also stamps from Egypt and Syria in my passport.

I would support Ilan and Richard: There is no problem in entering Israel with Arab or Iranian / Afghan stamps. Expect questioning but on the land border in Bet Shean they are used to overlanders (though not many).

Depending on how you enter Israel you might not be able to travel to most Arab countries. Your passport will show the exit stamp of Egypt or Jordan. You CAN enter Jordan, Egypt and possibly Morocco with an Israeli stamp in your passport.

It will not be a big problem for an Italian...
You will be questioned for some time for the reason then they will let you go.

If you were a Turkish or Arab, it would be more problematic... IMHO...

they will let you in after a bunch of questions by a prity imigration girl ( they are almost always stunning....be cerful they use charm to trip you up on stuff...eg are you going to any peace camps..say NO)
you will only have to show your passport in israel if you are going to the west bank, and the arseholes on the checkpoints there will hassel you anyway...but you dont need a new passport for this...they are just teanage ****wits)

i entered almost directly from iraq with no problems about stamps...just make sure you say you are just a tourist or volenteer on a kibbutz...dot talk about politics
