Iranian visa in Oman or UAE?
 

I'm looking at going from Sudan (getting the Saudi Transit Visa in Khartoum) to Saudi, UAE, Oman and then UAE to Iran.

(Though I'd prefer a double Saudi transit visa that would allow me to go back through Saudi to Jordan).

Question - Can I get a Iranian visa in Oman or UAE?

I plan on spending 3-6 months in Oman/UAE so these would be the only two countries where it would fit in with my plans....

If you use an agent you can certainly nominate any Iranian Embassy to collect your Visa but having nominated one you cannot change.In my case I nominated Istanbul and after the authorisation number came through I collected the visa in Istanbul with no fuss. From memory I think the agent ( Magic Carpet) charged about 120 pounds sterling and the visa was I think 90 Euros. All the application can be handled over the internet.

I am in Dubai at present and currently applying for a visa and trying to track down ferry co(all current details seem to be wrong/outdated).

I am going to the Iranian Consulate tomorrow morning to find out about overlanding visa. I plan to travel thro Iran in November. I will email again tomorrow with up to date info but in the meantime I can confirm that you can get a visa here.

Do you have any reliable contacts for Sharjah-Bandar Abbas RoRo ferry?

I've just been to the Iranian Consulate and Visas for arrival by sea have to be obtained from Dubai before arrival and take between 3 days and 4 weeks depending on what happens once the application goes in. I have been informally advised that because I am overlanding and want to stay 4-6 weeks that my visa application will have to go to Tehran and will therefore take the longer route.

I have also attached extract from mail I have received from Persian Tours Co.

Touristy visa: (thorough agency -30 day’s validity) It is safe to say that least needed time for the issuance touristy visa this way is 3 to 4 weeks for American passport holder.
For that it would be very helpful to consider starting the Visa issuance processing well in advance.
There are 4 items needed to get your visa application file ready.
A-applicants visa application be filled and sent to us. You can send us your visa application through our online visa application form available in the following link:

B- Scan of the main page of applicants passports (one scans each person of his or her passport main page which holds the persons picture)
C- A short resume (CV, a short summery of your past and present work and education story)
D- A short itinerary
The Passport scan and CV can be sent to us by Email (tours.irantravelingcenter@gmail.com) but the main visa application form is an online form which you just need to fill it on our website and submit it. As soon as we get your visa applications we will send your confirmation and complementary information.
Attention:
An important point that you are advised to pay attention is that if any cancellation or change of time occurs from your side, you must pay the cancellation fee based on the stage of your travel process that we are involved.Our service fee for visa is 60 US$ per person but note that you need to pay the consulate fee at the embassy too. This fee is different in each country and it is negotiable. If you arrange your tour through us your visa will be free on tour.
The other significant matter to notice is that please reconfirming the total rate one month before your travel to Iran for the benefit of both sides.

Can you get a Transit visa for Motorbike ?? I asked last year and was told no. I was looking going North - Saudi, Jordan, Syria and then Europe.


I live in Oman - so assuming you are on a EU/US/Aus/Nz passport you will be able to stay in Oman 30 days - and get a 30 day extension. The Cost for the Visa will be 10 OR ($27)

I have a 4x4, but it is RHD so they usually stick it on the back of a truck. But it is possible. For motorbikes, just write 'vehicle' not motorbike to get the visa as discussed on a previous post. Less information is more ;) Not sure what happens at the border though ;)

We got our Iranian tourist visas today. 30 day single entry valid for 3 months from date of issue.bier

Took about 4 weeks but,quite straightforward.

Shocked at cost of Dirhams 720 each(US$200)but,what the hell!

If anyonr needs specific details of obtaining this visa in UAE please maul me.

Ferry is from Sharjah to Bandar Abbas and will be booking this next week. Will post more then.

You can do it remotely but will have to state on the Application where/which Iran Consulate you will use to collect the visa eg:Muscat or Dubai,etc.

You can do it remotely thro a Iranian Travel Co. I used www.lovelyiran.com who I can highly recommend.I dealt with Ms.Sara who was very helpful and efficient. They will charge about US50 for the service.

They will need a completed Application Form that they will send you and a copy of your passport.They will tell you which pages.
They then submit this to Authorities in Iran and if you get visa approval you will be sent a code/ref no.which you then take to your nominated Consulated who will give put the original vis visa into your passport within 2-3 days. Mine cost US$200 each but this may be variable!

This has been a bit complicated and time consuming and I will not bore you with the whole story as it will vary for each traveller.

You will be able to track down the RoRo ferry Co called Valfajr 8 on the web and see scheduled services. BUT All of the Agent Info for the UAE published on their site is out of date and useless.

By trolling Iranian websites I eventually tracked down Valfajrs current agent who operates inside the restricted area of Sharjah Port so getting in to see him requires gate passes,time and patience. I will not give a company name to you as I have seen at least four different names on my documentation.

His name is Mr.Nazar phone ++97150 7868280. Once there he and his staff are very helpfull and efficient and will issue tickets on the spot.

You will require a Driving Licence,Carnet,Passport,Car Ownership Docs and possibly a current MOT Cert from UK to be allowed to book. Your case as an ongoing traveller will be different to mine so you will need to check specifics with them.

I was not asked for Green Card but I will have one anyway.

The cost for my LR Def is about US$450 and passengers about US$70 each. The trip takes about 10 hrs but check in and clearance takes approx 1 day!!!

I am due to sail on 08 Nov and will try and post an update mail when I an in Bandar Abbas.

All a bit confusing but Do persevere as I am sure the trip thro Iran is worh it.

Some good info I will be planning to cross into Iran at the end of Feb/March holding a UK passport being British.

It would be good to hear the out come of the crossing I have a bit of a dilemma as I am riding a bike bake to the UK and will be exporting it on export plates the auto mobile club here in Dubai have told me that I don't need a Carnet Just the export paperwork from here so a bit confused I called the Iran Embassy they told me what ever they have said what ever they have said is what to do. I can get a carnet from the Uk as i still have part of my reg Docs but will not have an MOT.

Still unsure what to do?????

Any info or help would be great.
