Iran - Going by car but not telling the agency

Hello,
me and my family are planning a trip with our camper van to India (from Czech Rep.) and the issue of a mandatory guide in Iran affects us to the poitn we might not go at all.
My plan is to apply for visa (with Touran Zamin) but not disclosing we are taking a car (besides posting a border to border itinerary).
I'm just a bit reluctant to send some 160€ only to be told "not possible".
Has any of you tried the same - not telling and be fine?

Thanks for the advice (on this or related topic)

Bob

P.S. We're Czech nationals and would collect the visa in Prague.

Don't worry

I was in Iran by car 2 months ago (it was my second visit in Iran with car)
We don't need any guide in Iran. I got my application from key2persia.com.
On each border of Iran you will welcome with no ask of any guide.
Go and visit this wonderfull country.

Thanks, Bartosz,
that's great news! Did you give out a plane reservation? What about the itinerary? What did you give to key2persia?
Thanks

Ok, now they're explicitly asking me if we are going by our own car or not. Guess I'll have to lie on this one (

I had question about car also, but nobody ask about guide.
IMO you can lie becouse there is no different betwen visas.
You will get visa in Prague and there is no any info about your kind of transport.

I applied for an Iranian visa in March, saying that I was not entering with a vehicle. I got the visa in May and entered Iran in July, with the car, no problems at all.

Just today I got another visa, and will be entering Iran with the car again in October.

Another update - Last month (October 2014) I entered with car at Nordooz (Armenia) and exited at Beshmaq (Iraq) with no problems. This was my fifth journey through Iran by car, and nothing has changed. If you get the visa, you are free to enter by car.

If you tell the agency you are travelling by car, you will not get a visa (unless you book a tour). Simple.

I got my Iranian visa through Stantours and picked it up in Islamabad. Didn't mention anything about riding a motorbike and wasn't asked either. Crossed at Taftan and had no issues with immigration or customs, carnet was stamped no problem. Got escorts from the border to Bam though

Entering Iran in January 2015 via Armenia

Hello riders,

Just got the Iranian visa in Yerevan (with code, after no luck in Trabzon and Batumi), and also not mentioning to the agency about my motorcycle. So hopefully will enter Iran in the next few days (if mountain roads are not closed because of the snow).

Is there any other frozen ass rider traveling through Iran at the moment?

Cheers!
