importing a bike into Lebanon?

Hi Am considering applying for a job in Lebanon but would hope to bring my motorbike with me if i were to get the post. Perhaps there is someone out there who might be able to help me with the following questions.
Are there restrictions on owning a bike in Lebanon as there apparrently are in Syria and Jordan?
Would the process of importing the bike be as painfull and as expensive as i suspect it to be?
Are there likely to be many complications entering Syria as a foreigner with Lebanese plates? Have heard that there have been some difficulies at the border recently.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

we're trying to take our bike into lebanon right now also. we were told you can only have a bike in lebanon for 6 months, then have to take it out and then bring it back in the country. that is if you keep it registered out of country. not sure if you register it in lebanon. either way you need lebanese insurance.
the info we have found, seems not to be too expensive once you get it into the country, but the cheapest shipping we've found from the US so far is $2700.
good luck!
