Egypt - Jordan - Syria - Turkey off road pistes wanted

Hi all,

I am considering shipping my bike to Egypt and then have a mix of off road (scenic views) and some culture along the way.
I was looking for interesting off road pistes in any of these countries. I want to spend about 1 week in every country.

Feedback and links welcome

Tnx

Tom

tracks & pistes

Did you get some data for those countries? I'm thinking to do it this year on a KTM and I'd like to collect data.
thanks.

Hey Tom,

I'll do the reverse trip as a part of my RTW. I'll be in Turkey in the second part of September. When did you think to travel in those country's ?? Be aware of the heat in the summer.

Turkey

Hi, the majority of Turkey is above 1000m and therefore not nearly as hot as the coast, 30-35 C rather than 40-45 C. Best pistes i found were in the NE, Caykara to Bayburt is excellent, Road of Stones is worth a visit and the Taurus mountains have many trails. North of Kas was listed in MCN as one of the best adventure roads but have never ridden it despite being in Kas for a few days. Andy

Hi,
Did you go by yourself through the pistes or did you use a road book, Waypoints or track or something like this? I mean that depending on the orography you can lose much time trying to improvise the piste. Or if you need to find a pass crossing an erg or crossing some mountains.
My plans are Syria-Jordan-Egypt(Siwa), through ferry from Tartous to Alejandria this Easter.
Regards and thanks.

Got plenty of pistes and trails here. Do drop in if you are passing through.
