Dubai travelers festival

Hi All
i had the honor to attend the second annual gathering of Dubai Travelers festival
the festival was held by an Emiratie team they had around the world trip on 4x4s ,they started 1996
and they came with that idea of gathering travelers in Dubai every year
it was a big festival very well organized
and supported by the state of Dubai
participates were from more than 20 countries
some travel on motorbikes ,cycling , in cars or flying on a microlight plane around the world ,travelling in a balloon ,travelling the world on camels or even walking around the world
they booked hotels ,flights tickets
and also a very nice place to show photos ,and give the chance to travelers to talk about how they travel
most of the travelers of course members and proud in our beloved group H-U
and i was so happy to meet them of course and to be in the same minded punch of crazy people love to travel each on his was
i hope every one of them can write his own experience with the festival in here
and i spoke with the organizers to try to join one of the major H-u meeting soon
travel safe all cheers

great experience!!!!!

Yes, Laura and me also were invited to the "Dubai travelers festival 2013" and it was a very nice experience. We gathered around 20 travellers from all around the world who have travelled in many different ways. To be part of that meeting was a great experience.
The organizators made a really good job. Again we felt the muslim hospitality. When you are the guest, you are like the king. The take care of you very well. We put us in a 5 stars hotel, showed us around....
All od us we gave the presentation in a very good buildig with a great atmophere.
If you are a travellers, to be here is like a dream.
Thanks Sheik awad and all his team.: Clap:

Overlanding in Iran,UAE and Oman

Congrats to all.

I have traveled and camped extensively in the ME since 1977 incl three UAE-UK trips using both the Saudi and Iran routes.

I would encourage the organizers of this festival to use any influence they have with the Saudi authorities to make it easier for foreigners to travel by road from the Gulf States to Jordan for tourism and Syria once things settle down there.

In the meantime traveling by road in Iran is a fantastic experience and should be encouraged for those based in The Gulf States with a sense of adventure and respect for a great country.

Dubai Travelers Meet 2013

This is Bharadwaj Dayala, the first Indian to travel around the world on a motorcycle.
I was really fortunate to attend this meeting. Great hospitality and affection from the organizers Sheik Awad, Hisham, Aref, Yasser and Hassan.
Apart from the sumptuous food and evening tours, everybody greatly enjoyed the 25 or so world travelers who traversed the globe in a different way.
Each traveler had a great story to tell. Public and the organizers as well as participants equally enjoyed the presentations by the travelers.
I wish to be there even on 2014 for this festival.
Take care and travel a lot.
Thanks

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
