Diesel in Lebanon
 

Hi guys

We have just been refused entry to Lebanon because we have a diesel car. We tried to cross from Syria and the Lebanese asked if we were Petrol, should have said yes! We were refused entry despite some serious pleading and had to re-enter Syria.
We went to another border point next day and insisted to the Syrians we were petrol,(just running a bit rough) but the first place had written refused on our carnet, so they wouldn't let us out. Must learn more Arabic!

This is well known issue with Lebanon; furthermore, if you get in, you might have problems coming out... big problems. eventually it could lead to confiscation of your car, so I wouldn't try.

Workaround: leave your car in Damascus and go there with public transport.

WHat a stupid rule! Any other countries anyone knows of where diesel cars are refused entry?
