For a while I'd thought I'd ride to Syria, but didn't. Now the war between a dictator and Western backed terrorists has thrown that country into chaos.

Today we learn that the ancient 2nd century market in Aleppo (Haleb) has been destroyed, quite apart from the loss of life over two years.

I should have gone earlier.

Nobody said it would always be there.
