Carnet required in Jordan for cars?

I see from posts here that Jordan does not require a carnet for motorcycles.

Does anyone know if the same goes for cars?
If a carnet is not required, what fees are charged (entering from Syria)?

Many thanks

You can go without karnet, but you must pay for temporary enter (around 50e).

Thanks for that. I can confirm that no carnet was required to enter Jordan by car this week.
Seems the wikipedia entry on carnet requirements should be updated.

Does anyone know if it is still possible to enter Jordan with a 4x4 with no carnet?

We also want to travel through Syria, do you need a carnet for travelling through Syria? We do have a carnet, but Syria and Jordan is not listed as a country we can travel through (it is 470% for a oz registered vehicle for Syria, so our initial plans were to avoid this). We have however changed our minds AGAIN re our route and want to do a bit of the middle east.

Thanks for any help.:thumbup1:
