harley davidson in Iran??

I wonder what kind of reaction I would get riding a Harley in Iran. I know the Forwood did it way back,but now with so many detesting the US is it silly to go around on such a bike?( U.K. numberplate). More stones from kids? Too flashy? Or do you think I would get away with it?

Iran is one of the most hospitable places I have ever been, you wont have any trouble riding a Harley.

when we where in Iran, Estafan, the "big bike mechanic" was working on a police bike,a WLA ,when we needed to use his workshop to rebuild our gearbox on the R65.very helpfull and friendly.had to translate through the tv repairman nexr door. $25 us .bearings and all

I haven't been to Iran however I am currently riding a Harley wideglide thru the Middle East. I've spent time in Syria, Jordan, Turkey and Israel. No matter where you travel in this region roads and gas are fine for any motocycle Harley included. When I bent my wheel I had everyone trying to help. The hotel owner took me to a tire shop and the shop managed to reshape a cast wheel so it now holds air with only a small leak. The people of Syria are wonderful people, very kind and friendly. I am an American and have made many friends all over the region. Eveyone is willing to help others. It's not at all like traveling in europe as an American. My advice is if you want to go to Iran just go. In the Middle East you don't need to show a credit card to find help when you need it.

One more thing. The people of the region all have let me know that what they detest is bush and his gang. NOT AMERICAN PEOPLE. Everywhere I went in the Middle East I introduced myself as an American and everywhere I went I was treated with great kindness and respect.
When I was in Canada I was asked in a pub if I was going to pretend I was Canadaian. I responded with I don't do that #@$%, I AM AN AMERICAN. With that everyone got friendly, bought me and the owner gave me a tee-shirt from the pub. So now I'm riding around with a Canadaian tee-shirt that I can't wear.
Anyway my point is that I didn't find any negitive reactions riding a Harley and being an American in the Middle East. The only people making personal attacks against American citizens are from Europe and other western countries. And all I got to say to the people who want to attack Americans is " how ya doin, I an AMERICAN and I'm riding my Harley thru your wonderful country,have a nice day."
