Save the beasties world tour

ok ive got the bike, got the info, starting the prep. So i thought i might try to do something good on my way round the planet.

the question is which charity or pick one from each country visited. Would prefer an animal based one.

how to raise funds?

how about an attempt to meet as many Hubb members in each country as possible and then go to as many countries as possible. If each member I meet donates £1 or
1 dollar and brings some fellow bikers who do the same it should all add up.

their reason to donate- a picture on the website with a bloke in a skirt[ ill bring me kilt] and everyone prefers roadkill when its running around looking happy.

My main aim is to head to thailand overland take a break there then continue to oz and to the states.

It's a brilliant idea. I wish I'd thought of it but then again I don't have a kilt. It's great to see some fund raising for animals.

Re: your profile, do you currently work in a prison or are you a porn star? (And either way, does the kilt figure much?)

Good luck with the trip and the fund raising. :thumbup1:

great

will start working on a list of charities will be SSPCA for the UK leg as the RSPCA get most the funding in the uk even from scotland but doesnt do any work up here. Rspca also have an international program so maybe them for overseas but would prefer to do local ones for each country that way people are helping their own country.

If the other hubb members could give some ideas and also if they would be willing to participate maybe a bike run in each country or a meeting in each major city. The more a response i get from various areas the easier i can get the route up and start the legwork.

as for my profile bit of both really prison officer working with sex offenders the kilt not required for work thank god!. It will bring attention to me and maybe get some more donations although think they have banned them in some countries something to do with football supporters mooning people[ dont see the problem in that if the worst thing a group off drunken rampaging football supporters do is moon the locals then they should be thankful compared to some of the things other away teams do.]

Updated please give advice

OK
I posted a route but havnt had any feedback on if its doable I think it should be from the posts I have seen here.

scotland- ireland[both bits]- wales- england-france-germany-austria-hungary-serbia-bulgaria-turkey-iran-pakistan-india-bangladesh- back to nepal

Try for china or ship bike to thailand and get chinese bike to do china

laos-thailand[ rest/work break for a few months to replenish cash]

malaysia-indonesia-australia-japan-russia-alaska?-canada-USA-S.America ending in bolivia where i will work at an animal sanctuary for 6 months-1 year.

The aim is to raise money for animal rescue centres.

I think it is a bit unfair to raise money for only 1 as every country has its own problems. So I will try to raise money in each country with 75% going to help animals in that country and 25% going to the one in bolivia.

Ways to raise cash

1/ I will visit animal centres in each country and post what they do on my website hopefully this will bring some attention to them and get donations.

2/ Try to get organised bike runs in each country where bikers donate to take part. With luck there will be some bike meets on the way too and ill whip the kilt out and show my hairy legs for a fee.

3/the usual appraoch organizations famous people to ask for items to ebay or donations.

4/ I was a chef in my younger years so i will approach hotels/restraunts in each country and get them to prepare traditional foods from that country or region collect the recipes and make them available to download for a price on the website as well as hopefully collect enough for a book. I have some contacts that can help with getting the publishing done.

5/ I am considering becoming a human baton in the european leg with handover points where escorting bikers from 1 area can hand me over to the other maybe even ransom me off to the new group to raise funds. That way the police wont get miffed with huge groups of bikers.

The problem with this is that i need to rely on people and time things so people can take part means either weekends or evenings for most of the fund raising. Although I could do the animal centre visits and recipe gathering during the week.

I'm currently in Peru doing some PR for an animal shelter here, as well as walking dogs etc. I'm keeping notes of animal groups here and will happily pass that info on when you get to S. America.
