Make a Difference Have you 'made a difference' while travelling, by fundraising or donating time and energy to a worthwhile cause? Are you a non-profit organisation or individual who knows of an opportunity for travellers to help out in a less developed country? Tell us about it and provide contact details.

Thumbs up Helping Street Kids in Latin America

PROJECT: MotoNomadas-Explorando el Sur: Helping to educate street kids and eradicate poverty in Latin America

Because MotoNomadas would like to make a difference while traveling, we will be fundraising to help Bruce Organisation enriching the lives of the poorest and most abused children and mothers in Latin America. The goal is to contribute aid, commitment and mentorship to those children in need.

Donations received through our website MotoNomadas - Home, will be used to provide with basic school and construction supplies needed by the centers at different locations throughout Central (Panama) and South America (Ecuador, Colombia, Argentina, Chile, Venezuela, Bolivia and Peru). The purpose and specific route of this charitable trip will be to deliver and assist these children and to distribute these donations and provide assistance personally.

In addition to raise funds, MotoNomadas also intents to contribute spreading Bruce Organisation message by telling our story, and inviting people to visit both our and their website, this way more people can join and contribute to the cause. Also, we would like to provide information on donation opportunities, document every aspect of the journey, and create media exposure to promote the charitable cause and spark awareness on the situation of street kids.

Although we intend to collect most of the money through our own effort, we are humbling seeking contributions from friends, family, and colleagues in order to lend aid to these deserving children. No amount donated is too little and will certainly put forth towards a commendable and worthy cause. We believe that our trip is a powerful form of education that will lead to further activism towards a more just world.

We greatly appreciate your caring and good will!

This is our first time fundraising for a cause. It is being hard, and time consuming......but fun!!!! We cannot wait to give those kids the opportunity to enjoy what we have been collecting for them. School supplies, multi-vitamins, clothes, and some fun are on the way.

Keep following our motorcycle fundraising adventure trip to witness how regular motorcyclists like us can help the community while traveling.

Talking

In an our continuing effort to help street kids, we have partnered with the "Pulsera Project" which helps kids in Nicaragua. Please check out our website home page, and read the story of how these two projects have come together. Look for "Alone we can do little things; together we can do so much" Enjoy!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
