Dambusters2013 for Help for Heroes
Dambusters2013 is a charity ride based upon the idea of the Toy Run or Egg Run. It is a ride to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the Dambusters Raid and will start at RAF scampton on 14th May and finish at the Mohne Dam on 16th/17th May just after midnight. All riders are asked to raise and donate £250 for Help for Heroes to take part.

Full details can be found at dambusters2013.org.uk - Home. The ride is approved by Help for Heroes (Help for Heroes) and Motorcycle Outreach (Motorcycle Outreach | healthcare needs delivery) and carries the full support of 617 sqdn, RAF - the real Dambusters!

Sounds like it will be a very special ride. Wish I could be riding along too. Well done for your effort.

I'm based in Sydney and noticed our local SBS tv station will air the doco 'Dambusters Fly Again' on the Friday, 26 April 2013.

I'll be thinking of you - well done.

sounds interesting. keep in mind, that the floodwaves of the broken dams killed thousands of people... mostly civilian. what would happen if a german gang of motorcyclists would try to do such a thing for... lets say "the german heroes of coventry"? or "the american heroes of hiroshima"?
for me it sounds a bit ill-minded to celebrate such an event...

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
