A Scooter Adventure For A Good Cause

I'm flying the flag here for a couple of lads setting themselves the target to scoot around the UK in a pretty quick time, visiting all the BMW bike dealers they can muster.

Ben and Olly are doing this thing to persuade people to donate money to Cancer Research UK. Charity giving is a pretty difficult thing to promote in these days of economic crisis, so this dash around three nations is their way of raising the profile of this particular charity.

On Friday 18th November (their final day) one short leg of their long journey is from Vines of Caterham to Vines of Guildford.
This struck a loud chord with me. It's the same journey I've been doing every day for the past 7 weeks, for the very purpose of attending the St Lukes Cancer Centre in Guildford.
But unfortunately I'll be in Ireland at that time so won't be able to ride with these lads, otherwise I'd certainly join them.

Here's their website, The Unbearable Challenge.
You'll find links to their route maps.

Perhaps I can persuade riders out there to join these two campaigners for a section or two of their journey.
Not least the Caterham to Guildford hop that I'm very sad not to be able to ride with them.

Check out their route.

Thanks for reading.

Final Lap

Am bumping this up in the hope that someone might ride with these two campaigners tomorrow, especially Caterham to Guildford.

Best of luck to them!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
