50CC for charity
![]() This is a picture of a good friend of mine. Her name is Gwen Jordan. Some of you might remember her from her solo ride to Alaska last year. Nearly two months and 20,000 miles on her '93 BMW K1100. Here's a link to her amazing trip, if you're not familiar with it, the solo part of her story starts around post #154. http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=142933 This August, she's planning to do a "50CC". That's a ride from one coast of the US to the other in 50 hours. And she's decided to make the trip worthwhile to others as well as a personal challenge for herself. I can't describe her plans better than she can, so here's another link... http://www.advrider.com/forums/showp...89&postcount=1. Gwen isn't active on any sites except ADVrider, so, with her permission, I'm spreading the news. Thanks, everyone, and ride safe... |

UPDATE: Gwen is on her way from her home in Virginia to the starting point for her ride. She's also upped the ante, in order to get more contributors. She's changed the ride from the 50CC to the 100CCC. That's the east coast of the continental US to the west coast AND BACK in 100 hours. A friend fixed her up with a Star Traxx transmitter, so her ride can be followed in close to real time here:
Autonomechs COP Demonstration She is the black 'X'. Still time to contribute, see the link in the first post. If you go to the last pages of that thread, you can see the modifications she and her fiancee [Steverino] have made to the bike... |
