Land Rover 10spline axles and bigger tyres...

Hello!

I have RRC with stock 10 spline axles, that both are in good condition.

I have been thinking about running my car with bigger 235/85-16 tyres. (BFG Km2 or Cooper STT) in overland use.

The weight of the vehicle is about 2600-2800kg when fully loaded.

I have fully rebuilt powerline including both transmissions with shorter defender gearing that drops the gearing about 15% compared to orginal gearing.

so the question, either go in close stock tyre sizing or or choose bigger tyres, will the axles hold?:scooter:

an ideas, experiences?

The earlier defenders and landrovers ran 10 spline if you drive as you should , then not really a problem (235/85 is equiv to 750x16 ) . Bad technique will break just about anything . HTSH
