Will the KTM 950 R Super Enduro be replaced?

...or was the last model the last model?

Hej,

the 950 SuperEnduro is discontinued, no plans so far for a 990 SuperEnduro by KTM.

There are still new 950's available at the KTM dealers.

best regards

Uwe

I've got an 07, think of it as an EXC on steroids for offroading.

Friend's just bought a new SE for £6,200 inc. half the cost of the 600 mile service. they were £8,200 approx when launched in 2006.

Standard gearing & pipes will still give you 3rd gear 70mph wheelies. They also make reasonable overland bikes, fitting a 690SM screen makes a difference. Heatshield on the right is useful if running stock pipes as they run hot due to the Cat's, here's one I made, inc the washers:

Thanks guys - made my mind up now that this is to be my RTW bike!

Very little mods are needed to make it my perfect idea of a RTW tool; 30 litre tanks are available, ditch that CAT, one or two minor protection bits 'n bobs and that's it - a fast, tough, light bike that will GO ANYWHERE. It's a keeper. :thumbup1:

~£6k for a new bike too :)

(oh and six inch extensions to my boots :()

BlackDog bashplate is crucial, it protects the sidestand mount which is mounted on the crankcases. A big hit can crack the cases. Some owners relocate the mount to a steel plate welded on to the frame near the swingarm pivot. Check out the Orange Crush forum on AdvRider for all the 950/990 info you require.

The 30 litre tank is expensive in the UK (£600?). A cheaper option is the 990SM tank @ 19 litres and the 6 litre side mount tank that mounts where the left silencer goes - obviously you'll need a 2:1 silencer manifold. You'll also only need one aftermarket silencer if you go that route. Neduro on AdvRider supplies the tank & the 2:1 manifold. If you use the 990SM tank, still use the 950 fuel pump or Facet 40171 which is more reliable. The 990 pump is higher pressure as the 990's injected.

Cheers Steve - all useful stuff. I called a dealer who listed a new bike on Autotrader at £6.4k and immediately got him down to £6.15k which would go a way to paying for my tank. I'll leave it another month and put my money down then. :thumbup1:

If you really want the SE, put a deposit on the bike now even if you don't collect for a month. There are very few of these bikes left at that price & the weakness of the £ against the € means that buyers are coming over from Europe to buy in the UK. Belgian friend of mine bought in the UK, cost him €7,000 max once all taxes paid - these are €11,000 in Belguim......

There is an Ezrberg replica SE due out in 2009 (different graphics, doesn't look as good IMO) & they'll cost significantly more than the price you've been quoted for an 08 bike.

Cheap used 950SE advertised in the back of the latest TBM:

08 registration, 600 miles, £4900.
