Tank Bag / Ruck Sack fro KTM
 

Hi All

I need one of those tank bags that can also be used as a rucksack, it is to fit a KTM Adventure R for a trip to India/Nepal in September this year.

Suggestions/contacts for a decent size quality item would be very much appreciated.

I'll be trying a Touratech Tank Bag Enduro, their catalogue says it holds 25 litres and can be used as a rucksack.

Try the Touratech tank bag made for the BMW GS1150. Its the one with side bags as well. You can fit it on the Adventure and it gets more weight up front. I give it the thumbs up after testing it from the UK to India and back

I'm using the same, and I like it.
But when sand/dirt comes between your tank and the side bags, the paint is damaged in no time. That's why I put some tape on the tank the protect it.

I use the orginal KTM tank bag same like Touratech. I think is ok but have few little errors. for example the cheap pocket zippers. I broke one but I didn't use big force to close it.... The second is attachment to fuel tank. On tight road corners bag fly away side by side.... I think the head frame atachment belt can't attachet in strong (Adventure tank is big and You have to little space for this belt).

No problem, you can fill the tank without removing the bag.

I've been advised to use the BMW bag as well. Do the side bags cover the air vents in the tank at all?

I used the 'KTM' Enduro bag with Mr Spritual Rider (Above using Touratech BMW tenk bag - the difference - one has side bags, the other not) from UK to India. I have had absolutly no problems with mine, no broken zips, nothing, in fact it still looks like new. I found it to be stable whilst riding, yes a little movement like all bags, but nothing to worry about.

Some would say that you need as much weight as possible over the front wheel. This is true but don't be too worried about it, you weight is far more than any loaded bag and you're not going to put very heavy items in the bag anyway, as it mostly useful for 'easy-to-get-at' items.

On the BMW GS version the side bags are a useful addition and you may be able to reduce the total amount of bags taken, believe me, this is excellent when packing/unpacking each day. Obviously, there is not much security though.
