Stolen KTM 640 Adventure

I am desperate to get this bike back as it has huge sentimental value after I rode it across the Sahara earlier this year with the Skycar Expedition 2009 (Skycar Expedition 2009)

It was stolen at 20.08 hrs on Tuesday 14 July from Kensal Green, London UK by theives in a stolen green BMW. They pulled up by the bike rank, took out a petrol driven angle grinder, cut the chain and left with my bike.

It is a 2003 KTM 640 Adventure in silver and is covered in Skycar Expedition decals and sponsors logos: Garmin, Goldentyre, CTI, Ossur, Hoare Bank, OPL Ltd, Ethanol Ventures and a number of smaller companies.

It has a very distinctive home made top box in aluminum with a steel frame. The top is aluminum tread plate. The frame of the bike is reinforced in steel angle to take the load when it is full of camera gear. Also a distinctive home made aluminum GPS bracket mounted on the three lugs around the instrument panel.

There is some damage to the fuel tank paint on the right. Rear sprocket is geared for desert riding so no use on motorways!

The road into Timbuktu has very distinctive orange sand. Despite many washes every nook and cranny of this bike is full of this orange dust, especially all the electrics and top of the engine under the tank.

If you are offered this bike for sale or any parts that are covered in this distinctive orange dust then please contact me through this site.
Bike registration is KS03 AOP,
Engine number 0358438153,
Chassis Frame number VBKGSN4093M758964.

Those of you who have had a bike taken will know how I am feeling right now.

Thanks everyone.

Sorry to hear of your loss - its a dreadful thing when anything has such a special meaning to its owner no amount of insurance will make up for its loss - until they start cutting off the hand of these b**tards to stop them lifting things its going to remain something we can do so little about - you took very decent precautions as it was. I hope you find your bike soon - wishing you best luck in your search. jake.

I wonder why we never have the pleasure to see these b-st-rds caught by a bunch of Hell's Angels while stealing their bikes...

I'm really sorry for your loss, bro. I hope you'll get it back as soonest.
