starter problems

I have a 2000 adventure with 40000 kms on it.The starter is not turning the motor over strongly. The dealer is telling me the starter is worn out and needs to to replaced because the battery tests as good. The new starter is expensive and difficult to get in France....Should I listen to the dealer and replace the starter? Thank you for your input.

Why not? If you're not happy then go to another garage for a second opinion. A starter motor is not KTM specific, any garage can tell you. Or buy a cheap battery charger and test yourself. The markup on a starter motor probably won't make much difference to his yearly bottom line...

Regards
