Problems with the new Behr Rims
Just got through the Moyale - Isiolo road two up. I have a 05 Adventure which has the new 950 Berh (or is it Behr) rims. My front now looks like two blokes with sledgehammers have been pounding it for a couple of hours. We were riding with another 640 which had the original DID rims and they look untouched. Tried to buy a replacement DID from KTM in Nairoibi which doesnt fit (differant spoke arrangement) and they want $470 for a replacment Berh. Has anyone else had experiences with these new rims? KTM seem to be diluting these bikes with lower spec parts or at least parts that are more focused on road riding, like the front mud guard that snap both rear attachments at the first whiff of African mud.
Any Thoughts. |

Rumour on the street is that it is more related to the fact that the 640 Adv is undersprung ithe front if you weigh more than about 70-75kgs.
It tends to bottom the forks on sharp hits and hey presto- bent front rim. Just out of interest I set the static sag on my 640 yesterday, and with a full tank sag is already 10mm more than the recommended max of 40mm. |
