KTM 1190 Adventure exhaust
 

Hello guys
I am currently trying to decide if I will change from my 990 Adventure to the new 1190 Adventure R. I am looking into accessories.
I have a question about the Acrapovic silencer.
On the old bike the double slip on Acrapovic cans gave you some horsepower and the were about 11kg lighter than the stock silencers. The sound improved a lot too.
I have not found any data on what they do on the 1190 other than having a cool sticker on the side.
Has anyone seen any comparison data on them?
The stock system seems to work fine on the youtube videos I have seen and the sound is cool.

More horsepower shouldn't be an argument to spend lots of money on an Akra system when we are talking about the 1190 - isn't 150 enough?

You will for sure save some weight, but the silencer is quite low at the 1190, so it shouldn't have an effect that you can feel. On the 950/990 it might make sense, since the silencers are mounted much higher.

Sound, well...! Some say "Loud pipes save lives!", I say "Loud pipes make people angry!", especially on not entirely legal roads...!

I have a 2014 adventure R and had the Acro fitted prior to picking it up. I find it a little on the quiet side and am looking into having it modifyed by someone locally.(sounds crazy after already paying alot for it I know) but I just want more a slightly more agressive note from the bike.
Ive cut a bit of weight from the bike also by removing things like luggage mounts, rear rack handles (placed small bushes under the plate to site right again) and rear foot pegs.

did you have a 990 before? how does the 1190 compare ?

The Akra on the 1190 will get louder over time, however will never be in the same league soundwise as the double Akras on the 950/990. The Akras on the 950/990 came with a new mapping, the Akra on the 1190 does not and will not deliver more HP.

yeah I had the 990 S (Blue one)... looooved that bike. that had twin acros also and just an awesome bike... power wise that 1190 would absolutely eat it.
Im having new tyres fitted next week, Heidenau scout possibly. I only have one rule when I ride and that is least amount of bitumen as possible.. :-) so the 1000kms I have done now was a bit difficult for me. (i left the conti's on untill the first 1000km service.. its due now)
I find them quite similar to ride actually...
I heard a lot of issues about the 2013 adv R before I got it, so I had a Uni filter, acro, bash plate fitted prior to picking it up.
I'm absolutly in love with this bike..... but still early days really with this bike, but I can assure you once it hits the gravel it will be pushed to the limit... illlet you know how it goes in the dirt. :)

I have a Ktm 1190 with aprovatic exhaust it does sound better but no difference to the powers hat I can tell.
