Cheapest KTM in the world - where?

Where can you get the most 'bang-for-your-buck' on a new/near new KTM adventure? Curious to compare global price difference. Also if you know of a good deal please post a URL or name of the dealer/seller. Thanks for the input.

Most dealers here in the states start off at $8100 for the 2003 adventure. (that's the list price, before any negotiations).
Where do all the unsold 2002's go?

In south Africa a brand new 2003 Adventure is going for about $8500 I've seen a flood of 2001 and 2002 bike for sale here at the moment..I think people are getting ready for the 950's launch here a nice 2002 is going for $6000-$7000

Braam 3 Feb 2003 15:11

Just had a look at the exchange rate and much to my Dismay saw the Price I quoted was way off..With today's exchange rate a 2003 adv will cost $9945 in South Africa..We must be the most expensive in the world..

I am in Israel and thinking of travelling around the world soon, in a few months. The KTM adventure is one of the bikes I am looking at for the trip. The problem is here they cost around US$15,000 which is crazy.

Does anyone know if there's a problem to buy one in the US or canada and ride around on that. I checked with a supplier in Europe and there its no problem, but thought of starting in the US instead.

dweig 3 Feb 2003 21:48

sorry, for your original question i found this dealer helpful. apparently the biggest in europe and they gave me some quote, eur8000 but including tax 16% which you could probably get deducted if you leave germany immediately

Hi,

Whilst going through Hungary, I was amazed at how cheap the KTM's were - about 25% cheaper than the UK, which, of course are expensive. On the road prince in the UK is about £6000 or $9000. In Hungary it was £4500 or $6750, so import/export tax aside, or when they join the EU, that's where I would go to buy one, and it makes a nice journey home... The dealers address is in the 'Friendly KTM garages around the world...' thread.

There is a KTM dealer in Dubai who is selling a 03 adventurer for $7500. The cost of shipping to Tanzania is $800. That seems a bit steep?
Baje, I called Mike at Inglis (Canada) and they quoted me at $7400, did you do some bargening to get the $6500? That would definantly be a deal.
JT, I'm waiting for a reply from the dealer in Hungary. They also look like a good deal.
Interesting point: I learning that dealers in the the US are not a good option because as of 9-11, there are new, very stringent rules on shipping into or out of the states. Two shipping companies wouldn't even touch it unless the bike was brand new without any fluids. Hmmm.
