We've had a code update on the HUBB that should fix any issues with the new right hand column. If the HUBB still "looks funny" please force a refresh to get the latest code update. (Hold down the shift OR ctrl key, and click the refresh button on your browser, OR Ctrl R, OR on Macs, Command R). If you still have a problem please post it here.

Carb icing
Poor running in cool and damp conditions has been put dowm to carb icing.In an attempt to cure it KTM uk have come up with a 5 inch square box that is placed in front of the air intake!this is to be made by a dealer in rubber {yet to be seen}.My own attempt was to raise the needles in the carbs by one groove {middle}and to take off the intake hose.Not only did this improve the running low down it seem's to have cured the icing!but more testing is being done.In removing the hose has only made a bit more induction noise,but it's worth it.

I have the same problem, but removing the snorkle could not fix it... ehrrr... it made the problem worst maybe. :-/

Hi Pietro,Iam dont know what to say in reply to this,however if I dont let my engine get hot before ridding off first I too can get Icing.
I have had this problem many years ago on a Kawasaki GPZ 600R,Kawasaki got around this problem by fitting new carbs with heated float bowls ! It works and they still use this system on todays bikes. My dealer tells me he blames todays modern fuels,but I have tried all types of petrol and it makes no difference.Have you tried raising the needles in the carbs as well ? I will keep you posted if my icing returns. I have some 30,000Kms on mine now. ------------------ |

this is certainly a problem on my bike as well worst at lower speeds.my bike already runs bigger jets and a raised needle but the problem of icing is in the smaller jet. currently testing vents in the side of the airbox (where the triangle access panel are)to allow warmer air from the engine into the airbox but I think the answer will be heated fuel bowls if there available. I believe that a heavy cored insulated copper wire wrapped around exaust header and fed upto and around the float bowl used on bikes in arctic rally had some success but cant remember where I saw the info anyone any ideas? has KTM come up with anything better?

carb icing think I have found a cure for the last 500 mile I have used an additive in the bike fuel and had no carb icing whatsoever even when running well below freezing conditions. The additive is mixed in a ratio of 1% and upto 2% mix with fuel.The additive is silkolene pro FST.It costs about £8.00 per litre. This obviously puts up the fuel cost but for a few month a year but to me its well worth it.
