9X0 Air Filter - can you clean it?
Hello all.
I've been scratching my head over this for a while and the rubbish service manual says nothing but 'check and replace'. Could someone enlighten me if its possible to clean the stock filter? I'm thinking compressed air and gentle tapping... (I'm aware that advrider will be a good place to post my question, but I cant access the site from my work computer) Thanks in advance |

I take mine out and bang the worst of the fluff and dust out at least once a year and only replace it when it starts to look a bit grey rather than at each major service. They were £28 last time I bought one and I know of no other aftermarket replacement, cheaper or otherwise. I don't see a problem using an airline as long as it doesn't get damaged.

you can tap and air blow it,
there's a bmc washable replacement as well. With a pre filter you can ride all of africa without the filter needing replacement as well. |
