990 Adv.Spare parts to cross Central Asia?

Hi,
We plan to ride KTM 990 Adv(2007) to cross Central Asia,
from Vladivostok-Mogolia-Kazakistan-Uzbekistan-Turkey-Morroco.
I expect over 40,000Km.
As we had bought the bike about 1 month ago,we don't know the bike well.

I plan to carry on spare parts as following:
Chain and sprocket,oil filter,air filter,spark plug,throttle and clutch cable,
throttle and clutch hand lever, head light bulb, fuse, brake pads.

Please, let me know what do I need more? What parts?
What kind of mechanic trouble should I expect?

Thanks

Hi there! Good choice of bike you got.

Well, i could start to write down a long story but my lunch brake is almost over.. You should check out the ADVRIDER.com forum, at the orange crush section a LOT was written on this. Dont take it al serious though..
Basically your fine with this bike, there's just minor things that can brake like the water pump and clutch cylinder. Both have been updated on your 2007 model and probably wont even fail anymore.

for this distance find yourself cleanable air filters and perhaps even a cleanable oil filter.

I had one but, alas no more. But I will have one again.

Biggest thing I keep reading about failing is the fuel pump.
Ditch the silencers (catalytic) and get some cheap Wings silencers from
Slovinia. With the small end baffle they are only marginally louder than std.
Keeps the whole rear-end so much cooler.

fuel pumps dont fail imho. they just wear out around 50000km from new. that's just the design unfortunately.
