640Adv tank to 640e advice ?

Hi all, I'm looking at fitting a fuel tank from an adventure model to my 640e. Along with a support frame to the front of the bike and a adv sadle I have seen that the adv is equipped with a Mikuni fuel pump. My question to any adv owners is this. Is the fuel pump purley vacuum driven from the carb ? and where abouts is the pump located / Fixed ? As I don't have an adv bike to look at any information will be greatly appreciated. Many thanks, Les.

yes, the 640 Adventures fuel pump is vacuum driven. The pump mounts to a plate that is bolted to two of the centre case half screws underneath the carb. The vacuum pickup hose runs from the pump to a spigot on the right side of the cylinder block just forward of the rubber carb intake boot.

At one stage I had an Adventure tank on my 640LC4-E.

It was quite straightforward to fit - a 'bolt-on' modification. The vacuum pickup was already there on my bike's cylinder block, but closed with a screw.

Island Hopper and Ian, thank you very much for taking the time to answer my questions You given me just the info that I required and confirmed that this will be a fairly straight forward swap. Cheers agian. Les.
