What years work?

I have a 91 KTM 300 MX (2-stroke) I want to put a KTM 300 EXC motor (4-stroke exc) on my frame. I was wondering how new of a motor I can put on my frame. Can some one tell me?

Sorry but i'm pretty sure none will 'just' fit. All 4stroke's are a lot higher then the 2stroke's. To high to fit in your frame.

Funny enough it would be easy enough to put a lightweight (RFS) 4stroke motor in your 300 EXC. But there is a major flaw in fitting a 300cc EXC motor into the frame KTM don't make a 300cc fourstroke motor. they do make a 250, 400, 450, 520, 525, 530 and there are variations on these capacities but nothing that relates to 300cc.

i'd be honest with you here to buy a motor is going to be expensive or your going to get a non runner then you need carb, electrics and exhaust system would it not be cheaper/easier to buy a fourstroke KTM.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
