640/690

Is it still possible to buy the 640 Adventure in some UK dealers?
Does anyone know when the new 690 Adventure is due out?

I've been in 3 different ktm dealers and have given the same response. KTM were reducing the volumes of output for the 640 in 2007, and have ceased volumes for 2008. If you do you find one in the shop it will be at least a year old.

The 690 is due for release 08/09 (so somewhere around sep - xmas).

Btw, Speedaway, Mauntys and AMS dont have any 640's so no need to ring them...

I don't believe any 640 Adventures were brought in to the UK in 2007, but you might find a dealer still has one in stock - try calling KTM UK or your local dealer and see if they can find one in the network?

As for a 690 Adventure - my dealer said it won't be before 2009 model year, so don't expect to see one before late autumn... with any luck there might be something at the NEC show perhaps?

If you really can't wait then you might still be able to lay your hands on a 690 Rallye... if you've got £18,000 spare...

The 690 Enduro (only a 12 litre fuel tank)will be in UK dealers in the next few weeks. I have riden the 690 SMC which is essentially the same bike as the Enduro but with 17" road wheels and road brakes subsituted for the standard 21/18 set up. I'm assuming the expected 690 Adventure will be based on the Enduro and IMO will be a 2009 model, worth waiting for. I think KTM UK have bought some 640 Adventures in this year?

KTM UK brought a few 640 Adventures in to the country in 2007. I ordered mine in january 2007 and took delivery in April 2007. Apparently they were made in batches in march and september. No reason to suggest that the new 690 won't be the same! There are a few of newish 640 Adventures around on second hand market, although I think when the 690 comes out there will be more! does'nt mean that the 690 will be a better travel bike because its newer! I would possibly have bought another XT600 if I could have got a new one!

private?

Is that a private sale or is the bike now Albion's property? Just wondered if you'd done a trade-in, as obviously they are going to be taking a % on that.

Hi Mountainboy65 at the moment Albion are brokering the bike for me as I'm away a lot of the time. I'll pay them an agreed fee for this service once it's sold.
