2002 Adventure R

I just bought one 2 weeks ago, passing over the F650 Dakar in the processes. It was a tough decision but I think I made the right one. I was worried about the reliability issues but ktm did make some changes in the
2002 and that put me over the top

Changes that I have made so far...

* Lead shot in the handlebars
* Bar end weights
* Home made hard bags
* Gell grips
* Removed emissions canister
* Taller wind screen (made from helmet visor)
* GPS mount
* Reshape seat (lower, flatter)

Things I want to do

* Handlebar risers (move them up 2 in and
forward 1)
* Open up exhaust
* Heated grips

If you haven't bought your heated grips yet have a look atthese:

http://www.hotgrips.com/ktm-motorcycles.html

They can cut them down from 121 mm to 115/6 (the grips on my 2000 adventure are 110 mm) but the hand guards can just be moved out a little.

I'm waiting for them to be shipped via a friend in the usa. I've looked at the Daytona, Oxford ones but they're too hard and too long.

Actually, I dont know all the changes in the new model but i have been happy as hell with the bike so far.

Thanks for the tip on the grips.
