Glad to see someone intends to take a W650 on a long run. I haven't even got one myself -- yet -- but I intend to and I intend to ride it all around... so I would really appreciate hearing back from you when you've been out on the road. Good points, bad points etc.

And what a beautiful bike it is. None of this easy life on a KLR or a huge comfortable BMW designed for long journeys... Absolutely the best way to see the world! Good luck with your trip and please keep me posted!

Hey,
I've just ended my trip in Poland and tshechie on a W650 and this with 2 persons! Total distans was about 8000km mostly good roads some just tracks. The bike was great mechanicly, but the middlestand had to be welded in the middle of the journy. Standard it is not enough welded to use a lot of luggage. Maybe do it before you start, it saves you the trouble during the trip. Good luck if you're not already back
