Hello there.. I have been reading the forum for a while, I now have a few questions to ask..

I ride a 2006 KLE in Turkey. It has no modifications what-so-ever, and at around 10.000 km. I get something between 5-6 liters for 100km, that is a little less than 20km per liter. I have experienced a slight drop in consumption when it hit 9.000, which I believe is not uncommon.

I have been thinking about the rimfire mod for a while, it seems to work for most people, but my understanding is that those people are using the older carb set up with bigger needles etc. I am wondering if it will work for my KLE.

In the original rimfire pdf, it says something like "Some models with "small trunk" have after the modification performance defects!", according to google translation. But I don't really understand which trunk they are talking about. Is it the snorkel that is smaller in the newer models or what exactly is it?

Has anyone here tried rimfire on a stock 2006..?

I am a calm rider, yet I intend to change for a 1 tooth smaller front sprocket for better overall torque, I think it will feel better that way. I expect rimfire to inclease fuel efficiency a little and maybe decrease the lumpiness on the lower end.

I know that there is a BIG thread about carb settings but I am not experienced with carbs and I'd rather not mess with them too much. I only want better fuel efficiency and maybe a smoother lower end.

And if I decide to try the rimfire mod and it does not work for me, is it easy to revert? I think if I stick a piece of duct tape to the holes, it should be back to original but is there anything I am overlooking?

I change brake pads, oil, oil filter myself, but I will probably take it to the service at around 12.000 for checking valve clearances, carb sync etc. the complicated stuff. Do you think should I schedule this sort of service after modding the airbox, or should it work straight away?

Also, how about spark plugs? How often do you replace them? I have a new pair in order just in case (as service charges ridicilous money for this sort of stuff) but should I keep them as spares or should I replace and keep the old ones as spares?
