pirelli's or metzler's???

guys, for a long tour south of border heavy loaded whats the best compromise hiway dirt road tires? i've heard the pirelli mt70 is good and lasts but what about the mt60 and the metzler sahara 3 looks good. is motorcycle accessory wearhouse the best deal- seems lots cheaper. leaving oct 1 for 9 months! yippee!!

Lucky you!

I've heard good things about the MT70's as mostly highway tires but do-able in a pinch off road. I've used the stock tires and they seem to be about the same as the Parelli's.

I bought some other tires from MAW last year and have no complaints.

If you are heading down from the States, I'd recommend some sturdy road tires to get through Mexico and into Guatemala.

In Guatemala City you can get some excellent Bridgestones from FPK for about 80 bucks a pair - asking for a 'discuento'. Also, loads of bits and pieces for your KLR
